I knew that eventually I would catch, because I missed this movie when everybody was raving about it.I can understand them now. The colors and the music was fascinating. I also liked the fact that it is more than a love story, there were several sub-plots. The most charming is the Cinderalla story of the house maid who was wrongfully accused of stealing. Her beau looks really ugly but we learn to like his fallible figure. The father also comes through strong when he stands up for his daughter against the evil and rich uncle. The movie brought India closer to me, turning the exotically foreign into real, while keeping a sense of beauty. It affirmed for me that people allover are handling the same problems.
