My Fall Schedule

I signed up for my classes. Not exactly to the ones I wanted to, but at least this way I can start what’s needed for my Religious Studies major. I have three 45 minutes lectures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and a 75 minute one on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Two of my classes require “sections”, smaller group discussions, these are Monday mornings and Thursday evenings. And one of my classes require to watch a movie a week either Tuesday evening or Friday afternoons. You can see my schedule at the end of this post or at http://calendar.yahoo.com/gaborporThese are my classes this quarter: 1. 19th century US History Sectional crisis through progressivism. A survey of the leading issues in American life from colonial times to the present. The course focuses on politics, cultural development, social conflict, economic life, foreign policy, and influential ideas. Features discussion sections. 2. Sociological Research Traditions Introduction to the basic language, logic, and techniques of major research traditions. Critical thinking in social science, and relation of theory to research in, for example, experiments, surveys, observational studies, historical and comparative approaches, and the use of available data. 3. Religion and Film An examination of religious themes and forms as they appear in significant works of modern film. The nature of man, the problem of suffering, the quest for meaning are among the topics considered. 4. Judaism Elements of traditional Judaism in biblical and rabbinic times.

My shedule – “D” stands for Discussions – The name of the classroom is i smaller font, on the second line – RG ST 130 stands for Judaism, RG ST 113 for Religion and Film Schedule
