The Passover Haggadah with Commentaries by the Vilna Gaon and His Son R’ Avraham
I thought I knew the Haggadah, the Jewish liturgical booklet read at Passover, fairly well. I was proven wrong, the commentators of this volume had deep insights and historical references I wasn’t even aware of. They, father and son, lived in the 18th century and created a work that I will need to read several times in order to grasp all of it. So rich in stories and thoughts and text-based analysis. Complying with the truest Jewish traditions. So next year, maybe not in Jerusalem, but I will take it out again.
