As I learned from SomethingJewish.co.uk the Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations is opening its doors in Cambridge, UK. It is supported by Prince Hassan of Jordan and Prime Minister Tony Blair amongst others. Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks opens it in a few days, but the man behind it is Dr Edward Kessler. One of its goals is to develop “the first-ever curriculum on the study of Jewish-Muslim relations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.” I didn’t find a website for the Center, just a few job postings, including researcher and an office administrator. Maybe the latter will take care of a website, so I could learn more about this endeavor. I hope it will grow into a resource we can count on for mutual understanding and respect.
