First Muslim in the Israeli government

I know that there are lots of perspectives on this but I chose to consider it a positive sign. The Washington Post is just one of many news organizations that reported that “Israel’s cabinet on Sunday approved the first Arab Muslim [Raleb Majadele] minister [without portfolio] of the Jewish state.” There were Arabs in the past in the government; the new part is the Muslim. This move has been criticized from left and right, e.g. sellout, political bluff, wrong person… I just would like to take it at a face value of “historic step toward equality and peace in the region.”
