Halachah and Shari’ah

This Washington Jewish Week’s article is mostly a summary of comments of organizers and participants made about a Sunday evening Jewish-Muslim gathering, organized by Tifereth Israel Congregation. The focus seemed to be comparison of halachah and shari’ah, halal kosher rules, and the number of participants from the two faiths. The event was considered “a seed of peace.” It is part of a series and there is two more occasions to meet in this environment.
